Why Custom Install Beats Windshield Mount
A windshield-mounted radar detector works. But a custom-installed system works better, in almost every way.
Windshield mounts sit behind glass that can interfere with radar sensitivity. The device is visible, which is an invitation to smash-and-grab theft and, in some states, a compliance issue. Suction cups fail in Florida heat. And the dangling power cable from the cigarette lighter is just ugly.
A custom installation mounts the radar antenna behind the grille or bumper cover where it has a clear forward view with no glass in the way. The main unit or display goes somewhere clean and unobtrusive. All wiring is hidden. The result is a system that performs better, looks factory, and doesn't advertise itself to anyone looking in your window.
What a Custom Install Includes
Remote Radar Antenna
The radar antenna mounts in the grille or behind the front bumper, giving it a clear unobstructed view forward with no windshield glass reducing sensitivity. A second antenna can be mounted at the rear for full coverage.
Laser Jammers
Radar detectors detect radar but can't stop it. Laser jammers actively respond to laser targeting by police LIDAR guns. We install jammer heads behind the front bumper alongside the radar antenna for integrated protection.
Hidden Display and Controls
The main control unit can be mounted in the A-pillar, under the dash, or in the sun visor area. You get the alerts without a box on your windshield.
Hardwired Power
Powered directly from the fuse box, so the system is always on when the car is on and there's no dangling cable from a cigarette lighter port.
Brands We Install
We are an authorized Radenso dealer, which means we have access to their full product line and factory support. Radenso makes some of the best radar detectors available, with excellent false alert filtering and strong range on all the common police radar bands used in Florida. We also install Uniden systems, which offer strong performance at a more accessible price point.
Both brands can be set up for stealth operation with no visible components from outside the vehicle.
Compliance Note
Radar detectors are legal in Florida for use in personal vehicles. Laser jammers exist in a legal gray area that varies by jurisdiction. We're happy to discuss this with you during your consultation.
